NAB, craps table, and $3 chicken fried steak 'n' eggs.
This is a big weekend for us at PCDP. Well, not really for us HERE, but for us in Vegas. A couple of the guys are going to NAB - and Steve is going to be involved in many sessions. Going "Filmless" - HD and Digital Cinema, Exploring the HD Workflow - A Panel of Experts, and In-Depth: FILMOUT - The Entire Process...just to name a few. He might be hanging out at the craps table in between, or finding a place that has good BBQ sandwiches. Who can say.
Ian is also going to be teaching a color correction course on Saturday, and both Michael and Steve are going to be a part of the Apple stage show on Tuesday. I hope they get to wear costumes. Okay, I know they're really not going to wear costumes - but still, I think it would be amazing if people could watch Steve and Michael cage fight over who gets to wear the iPhone ensemble. Tom is also going, but he's being really secretive about what he's doing, so I have a sneaking suspicion that he's going to attend some sessions and put $20 on Steve in the cage fight. So, if any of you happen to be in the area, try to check out our boys speaking, fighting, and gambling away their shirts.
As for me, since Tom designated April 16th as a day off for us, I'm going to wake up early and plant flowers with my mom. We are also holding a cage fight - she's really controlling about the potting of the plants, and I'm sick of it. DONE with that nonsense.
I know, I know, three blogs ago I promised to update every Friday. I've not only failed you, but, I've failed myself and my mom. In my defense, we've had A LOT going on over here.
1. We have a new receptionist! Her name is Dana, she wears cute shoes, AND she's fun. She's also the new She-Ra of the vault, and once she settles in I'm handing her a costume to wear and she'll hang a sword above the vault door.
2. Yesterday was Ian's birthday. For some reason, I become responsible for the picking up of the cake, and making the celebration happen. A major source of stress is trying to get everyone into the lobby to sing happy birthday to someone who is trying to avoid having everyone sing happy birthday to him. Know what? I'm done with the cakes. DONE. It's way too much stress. Ian's in a session, no wait, Ian's with a client, no wait, the client is gone....MADNESS. I lit the candles 3 times yesterday, only to have to blow them out because we couldn't get him out there. THEN, Ian ends up sitting the lobby all by himself while the cake and its unlit candles sit waiting. I know these guys don't care about the frills, they just want to eat the cake. Why do I fight it?
3. Cleo hasn't been here for 3 days, and I'm getting an urge to knock over trash cans so I can at least pretend that she's here. That also means Tony hasn't been around, so I've been fighting the urge to take food from peoples plates while they try to eat lunch.
That's all for now. See you next Friday.
Heart,
Nicole
