Wedding Most Likely To Be Turned Into A Movie
This weekend I traveled to Kansas for my cousin's wedding. Her and her husband had planned a beautiful wedding outside in the countryside. As a sign of 'good luck', it rained the morning of the wedding. Fortunately, we had set up all of the reception under 3 'big top' style tents (white of course). The rains ceased in just enough time for the ceremony to begin. But it was then that Mother Nature had her fun. Right before the vows were to be read, a large thunderstorm rolled in- soaking all of the guests. We took a "time out" and moved the rest of the wedding to the dance floor under the big top. With periods of rain off an on, the rest of the ceremony went wonderfully. Two kegs and many bottles of wine later, the reception ended with a bang as the middle tent collapsed on a few tables and the bar area. Everyone scrambled to find their belongings and family members and made their way inside the house during a downpour. Fortunately everyone was accounted for and only minor injuries
were reported. But that wasn't the end of the evening. The Charter bus that came for all of the guests got stuck in the mud. All 50 or so people were stranded until about 1 am when the replacement bus arrived. It was perhaps the most eventful wedding that I have ever attended.
Congratulations Chris and Angel!
