After graduating from Columbia College Chicago in 2003 with a degree in Audio Arts and Acoustics, Phil Beckner continued his daily life of waiting tables, bartending and playing in a rock and roll band. The glitz and glamour of playing in a rock and roll band was nice, for a while. However, in the summer of 2005, he literally woke up and said to himself "I'm moving to California". And within a week, he was on his way out West, excited to finally accomplish his life long goal of living in every time zone in America.

Once in Southern California, joining the PCDP team was easy (really, he put out one resume on the internet, and within minutes Steve called to request an interview). After winning everyone over during the interview process, despite the fact that he was horribly overdressed, Phil started as in intern in the machine room. He still believes that the fact he was from Chicago was a large factor in getting the job.

Now a full-time Machinist, Phil is eager to share his knowledge in the audio field with his colleagues. Having experience both with post-production audio and location sound, Phil is the go-to guy when you need the answer to questions such as "Hey, can you boom and mix this at the same time for me?" and "Is this in sync?" Phil is excited to have a hand in developing the sound mixing services that PCDP now offers. BACK
