Michael Cioni was born and raised outside Chicago in the West suburb of Elmhurst, Illinois. He began his career in television at the PBS affiliate, WSIU television in Carbondale, Illinois.  In 2001, Cioni became the youngest recipient of the Academy of Television of Arts and Sciences Best Informational Program when "alt.news 26:46" won four Emmy's in 2001 and 2002.

In October of 2001, Cioni moved to Los Angeles and began working for Christopher Coppola as an editor for PlasterCITY Productions. In 2002, Cioni began work as a high-definition technician for Coppola and in July of 2003, helped create PlasterCITY's own exclusive post-production facility, PlasterCITY Digital Post Production in Hollywood, California.

Now PlasterCITY Digital Post’s Director of Operations, Cioni has helped re-define non-linear workflows for television and feature films as a Digital Intermediate Supervisor.  His direction and dedication to pioneering creativity and technology have helped make PlasterCITY Digital Post a rising post-production industry leader.
